What is a biogas plant?
A biogas plant is an anaerobic digestion system that converts suitable biodegradable organic waste into biogas and digested slurry. The biogas can be used for suitable applications such as cooking after proper gas conditioning and installation.

What type of waste can I put into the plant?
Suitable biodegradable kitchen and organic waste can be used, such as food scraps and vegetable waste. Avoid plastics, metals, stones, chemicals, detergents and other non-biodegradable or harmful materials.

Can kitchen waste be used directly?
Kitchen waste may need to be properly prepared before feeding. Large or hard pieces should be reduced in size, and the feed should be introduced according to the plant’s operating instructions.

What happens to the slurry?
The digestion residue, commonly called slurry or digestate, can be collected and, when appropriate, used as an organic soil amendment.

Can I install the plant myself?
Installation requirements depend on the model and site. For safe operation, the digester, gas piping, pressure control, gas-conditioning equipment and cooking appliance connections should be installed correctly.

How long does it take to start producing gas?
Startup time varies depending on the inoculum, feedstock, temperature and operating conditions. Gas production normally develops gradually as the microbial population becomes established.

Can the price change?
